How do I register for classes? You can register by either calling our office at (859) 619-4308, sending an email to [email protected], or signing up and paying on this website.
How far in advance do I need to register for classes? You may register for our classes within 72 hours (3 days) of the class start time. Depending on the number of attendees, groups of 6 or more need to register 2 weeks in advance.
What days are the classes held? Classes are currently being held 2 to 3 times per week. On-site classes for Businesses and Facilities are available for groups of 10 or more- call to schedule.
What does recertification mean? Recertification takes place 2 years from the month/year of the prior certification or recertification.
What is your cancellation policy? We are confident that you will enjoy and benefit from your CPR and/or First Aid class experience. Your paid class fees guarantee a place for you. If circumstances do force you to withdraw, the following refund policies apply:
If you cancel your class within 5 days before the class date, you are entitled to reschedule for another class date or a full refund, minus a $15.00 administrative fee.
If you cancel your class within 48 hours before the class date, you will not receive a refund of the class fee.
If the instructor cancels a class, the student will have a choice to reschedule for another class date or full refund of the class fee without administrative fees.
If you are a "no call, no show" on class day/time, no refund and no rescheduling of class.

Classes may be canceled if fewer than 4 students are scheduled.
Are online classes available for CPR? Yes, American Heart Association online (eLearning) offers the following courses: BLS CPR, Heartsaver CPR/AED, Heartsaver First Aid, and ACLS. Jump Start the Heart LLC offers all of these courses and in-person skill testing. Register with us to take the online course and in-person skill testing and receive your completion (2-year certification) ecard.
Yes, American Red Cross Association online (blended learning) offers Basic Life Support CPR/AED, Advanced Life Support, Adult and/or Pediatric CPR/AED, and First aid. Jump Start the Heart LLC offers all of these courses and in-person skill testing. At least 77% of cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital. The sooner CPR is started the greater chance of survival. Knowing CPR enables you to give assistance to family members, loved ones, co-workers, and others who are in need.
When do I receive my certification ecard? Your certification e-card (electronic card) will be emailed to you within 2 hours from the end of the class.
How long is the certification card good for? All certification cards last 2 years from the month/year of the class. CPR for Friends and Family receives a participation card.

How do I pay for the class? We accept cash, personal checks, credit cards, debit cards, or money orders at the start time of class. We also accept credit and debit cards when paying online. Corporate checks are accepted at the time of the class or upon receipt of the invoice. BUSINESS ONLY: Payment for all participants must be received 1 week before the class date
What should I wear? The courses involve a lot of hands-on practice, using manikins. Please wear comfortable clothing.
What if I have never taken CPR and/or First Aid before? No prior knowledge is required to take any of the CPR/AED/First Aid classes which Jump Start the Heart offers except the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Recertification class.
