History:

Jump Start The Heart originated in 1989, inspired by the desire to provide more effective CPR training to healthcare providers.  Jump Start The Heart taught classes in Louisville, KY to healthcare professionals in hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies.  The classes were taught sporadically and by "word of mouth."  In 1994, Jump Start The Heart relocated to Lexington, KY and used a bartering system in order to obtain manikin use.  Again, based on "word of mouth" advertising, the company grew.  Jump Start The Heart was geared to only healthcare and childcare providers during that time.  In 2005, with business classes and direction from Community Ventures; Jump Start The Heart grew into a new location with an expanded customer base of all persons (laypersons and healthcare providers alike).  In 2011, Jump Start The Heart expanded class offerings to include Advanced Life Support skill testing. In 2019, Jump Start the Heart added American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid classes to our class schedule.  In April 2020, Jump Start the Heart added Provisional CPR/AED/First aid classes to class schedule to meet the Coronavirus19 health guidelines.
